Blame It On A Matchstick |
The Downloadable CD $10 |
Words & Music by Duncan Wells
Here's a little story 'bout a matchstick
who never really thought he'd ever get lit
then some one picked up the matchstick
gave it a scratch and a fire was lit.
Well, it caught on the curtains and it made a lot of smoke
it made everybody in the little house choke
the alarm went off, fire trucks came
and everybody in the little house was saved
but the house burned down right to the ground
they were lucky that they didn't get caught
it's a dog gone shame, who do you blame?
Well, you surely can't blame it on a matchstick.
Here's another little story 'bout a boy named Lloyd
he found a matchstick on the ground outside
he took it home and here's what he did
he gave it a scratch and a fire was lit.
Well, you better not blame it on Lloyd.
Here's another little story 'bout a man named Bob
he left a matchestick on a counter top
along came Lloyd he picked up the match
and I think by now everybody knows exactly what happened.
You really can't blame it on Bob
and you better not blame it on Lloyd
because they didn't mean to do what they did
so, I suppose we'll have to blame it on a matchstick
