I used to have a woman cook supper for me
and wash the dishes when I was done.
She would always complain that I was never the same.
See, when we first met I was so much fun.
So, I'd tell'er I love'er even call'er dear,
turn the television up an' go get me a beer.
Then one day she just disappeared
a day I really can't remember at all.

It happened on a day I can't remember.
It was a moment that I seem to forget.
She and I exchanged four letter words.
that's what the neighbours all said.
Somethin' 'bout a window gettin' smashed by a fryin' pan
and her drivin' off in the family van.
I musta been stuck in a time warp man
cos? I really can't remember at all.

She used to make roast beef special.
she had a secret recipe
She hardly ever bought clothes cos' she made her own
on a second hand sewin' machine.
She'd clean up any mess, looked great in a dress
and knew exactly how to treat her man.
One day she walked out the door to the grocery store
and I never saw that woman again.
