Counting all the petals off my daisy
love me love me not with the sky above my head
does this feeling mean I'm crazy
or is it something else instead?
I swear there must be something wrong with me
standing here in daisy petals up to my knee
we should be together but we never seem to find
the right words to say if we could only speak our minds.

Tell me that you love me darling
give me all your kisses and a flower for my hair
when the petals fall we'll be parting
but I will always love you daisy dear.

Counting all the stars in the night sky
Venus is the brightest and a favorite of mine
she could not compare to your eyes
I hope you see the same in mine.
I swear there must be something wrong with me
it's two in the morning and I can't get to sleep
the sheep's in the meadow, the cow's in the corn
there's only one way we could ever know for sure.

Tell me that you love me darling
give me all your kisses and a flower for my hair
when the petals fall we'll be parting
but I will always love you daisy dear.

Counting all the times that we're together
it's funny we don't speak about the way we feel inside
I'll write it in my diary to remember
just in case some day you leave my side.
I swear there must be something wrong with me
everywhere I go I find I'm counting everything
when you're not around it seems the day's so long
I'll find a piece of paper and I'll write it in a love song.

Tell me that you love me darling
give me all your kisses and a flower for my hair
when the petals fall we'll be parting
but I will always love you daisy dear.
